Choosing an Electrophysiology System?
If you’re comparing systems, a few questions tend to matter most:
Does it support both tethered and untethered recording? Cabled systems are simpler, but tethering alone constrains behavior — flight, foraging, social interaction, and naturalistic movement all become harder or impossible to study. Our headstages give you the option for both: tethered for setup and channel verification, untethered for the actual experiment, without swapping systems.
Does it work with Neuropixels probes? Many datalogging systems don’t. Ours does — up to three Neuropixels 1.0 or 2.0 probes recorded simultaneously, tethered or untethered.
Does it scale with your model organism? From 3.8g dataloggers small enough for mice to carry, to systems purpose-built for non-human primates, our headstages are designed around the animal, not the other way around.
Talk to us about what your experiment needs — we’ll help you figure out the right configuration.

Introducing the Neuropixels Bennu Headstage!
Record more, move freely — Bennu supports up to 3 Neuropixels 1.0 or 2.0 probes with wireless datalogging
A DATALOGGER SO SMALL A MOUSE COULD CARRY IT
The Sprite32: tiny size, big performance — 32-channel datalogging in 3.8 g
Packed with Power
The Pixie384 Datalogger: 384 channels, 15 grams, 3 hours of untethered datalogging
Unleash data collection with untethered recording
High channel count systems that wirelessly capture and store neural data locally for extended recording times. Offering lightweight options for mice, rats, and primates.
BIG DATA FOR BIG BRAINS
The Satori NHP: an ultra-compact and powerful headstage built for freely-moving primates using Neuropixels probes
STIMULATE DISCOVERY WITH CLOSED LOOP PERTURBATION
Get results fast with sub-millisecond closed-loop control of optogenetic and electrical perturbations. Write custom code defining behavioral algorithms and device control parameters.
