Pixie384
Coming March 2025!
The Pixie384 data logging headstage leverages the power and flexibility of the Neuropixels 1.0 384-channel Neural Recording Integrated Circuit (NRIC) chip to acquire 384 channels of dual-band (AP & LFP) neural data and is compatible with most passive electrode arrays. Pixie384 features the Spikegadgets Janus chip; a custom-designed ASIC logic chip, purpose built and optimized for high channel count, low power consumption data logging to get the longest recordings possible at the lightest .
Pixie384 offers ~3 hours of continuous record time with standby mode and features wireless headstage status monitoring in Trodes. Weighing in at only 15 grams, Pixie384 can be used for both tethered and untethered (wireless) recording. Tethered, Pixie384 streams data live to the MCU and Trodes via micro HDMI tether. When recording untethered, Pixie384 records all neural and sensor data to on-board removable microSD storage under battery power.
- Low power consumption: 3 hour record time using a 400 mAh battery
- Low-power standby mode, enabling longer behavioral sessions with recording bouts
- Battery and Headstage status monitoring over radio in data-logging mode
- 384 channels of neural data + accelerometer and gyroscope
- Dimensions: 35 x 28 x 17.5mm
- Weight (without battery): 15g
